Double Success at the 20th Cro Cup in Croatia
At the 20th Cro Cup in Croatia, Edvin Kuric, chairman and head coach of Rebels Karateclub, once again proved his class. Against international competition he secured no fewer than two medals - and that in two completely different disciplines.
In Kumite +84kg Edvin asserted himself convincingly in his weight class and took the gold medal. In addition, he impressed in the form-based Kata event of the Male Seniors and returned home with silver.
Strong in Kumite and Kata
A double success in kumite (fighting) and kata (forms) is anything but a given: both disciplines demand different strengths - on the one hand speed, timing and competitive toughness, on the other precision, control and expression. The fact that Edvin stands on the podium in both events underlines his versatile technical training and decades of experience in Shotokan karate.
The Cro Cup is one of the region’s tradition-rich international tournaments and year after year brings strong karateka from several nations to the start. This is exactly the stage we seek - to measure ourselves against the best and gather valuable competition experience.
A Role Model On and Off the Mat
As an active competitor and at the same time head coach, Edvin embodies what Rebels Karateclub stands for: consistent training, commitment and the will to continuously develop. His successes are an incentive and motivation for our entire team.
